Catering Insight Awards 2016 winner: Distributor of the Year, Rest of the UK is ... Shine Food Machinery

Sponsored by DC Products, the Catering Insight Distributor of the Year, Rest of the UK category was open to distributors based in Wales,Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The voting suppliers decided that for a second year in a row, Welsh dealer, Shine Food Machinery, would be the victor.

The distributor has garnered praise for its project management, particularly of the recent Olympic Stadium project in London, which was so large it had to be carried out in two phases. Other recent endeavours were for Selfridge & Co, the Quod Restaurant & Bar in Oxford and the luxury Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe, Wiltshire.

Having recruited heavily to grow to 58 employees, the dealer has also invested in energy efficiency and process efficiency measures.

Shine's business development manager Leon Hoyles collected the trophy and said "We're delighted to win the award. It's all down to the hard work of the guys at the factory and we're obviously appreciative of the fact that it's been awarded by suppliers"
