With so much of the UK affected by high hard water levels, Catering Insight is investigating what features warewashing manufacturers can build into their systems to combat limescale The scourge of limescale deposits affecting warewasher performance is a major issue throughout the country, so dealers have to consider this right at the beginning of a project or installation when specifying appliances. Sodium exchange softeners are the solution of choice for DC Warewashing & Icemaking Systems. The manufacturer provides three optional types to cater to differing water hardness, water usage, space, power supply and budget requirements. These are external manual softeners, external automatic softeners and integral softeners (now available across all of its undercounter and passthrough ranges). Director, Bob Wood, detailed: "Our integral softening systems have become increasingly popular over the years as they combine the softener and warewasher into one unit, reduce user intervention, eliminate the need for a separate power supply and are incredibly good value for money. They also have a salt-low lamp to indicate when salt is low and needs replenishing. He urged: "We would always advise dealers to check the water hardness of a prospective customer by carrying out a simple water hardness test. Once the hardness has been ascertained the dealer can work with the customer to find the best solution for them." Read full article in Catering Insight magazine June 2016 issue ... |
