Don't feel like you're getting a clean break when it comes to warewashing? Then our panel of industry experts is here to help!

With a multitude of different warewashing option on the market, it can often be a daunting task deciding which one is right for your business. The market is complex but there is something to meet every need.

Product development is key in the equipment market and contract caterers looking for warewashing solutions will find everything from compact frontloading dishwashers that suit smaller kitchen spaces, to free-standing utensil washers for high volume establishments that are available at great prices. Look for models with energy and water saving features, as these will help lower running costs.

It is still important to take advice and ensure longevity and value from any purchasing decision. The biggest tip however, remains that, if you want to be a winner with warewashing, you really do have to rely on good old-fashioned common sense. "If you look after your machine it will look after you so choose a reliable brand and a machine that is easy to clean for end users, and easy for engineers to access and service," says Bob Wood, director of DC Warewashing & Icemaking Systems. "Ensure servicing and parts are inexpensive and readily available in the UK".

Bob Wood gives advice on 5 things to consider once you have chosen a warewashing machine, including: water softeners; drain pumps; WRAS approved break tanks; what electricity supply you have; water pressure.
